About Me
I completed a Music Composition/Performance BMus at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2023, and I have studied under composers Deirdre Gribbin, Gwyn Pritchard and Stephen Montague.
I finished my degree with a final performance - for which I received a first - at Blackheath Halls on the 31st of May 2023, showcasing 6 very contrasting films, each scored with a different ensemble. During my time at Trinity Laban, I reached the final of the Daryl Runswick Competition with my piece "Ex Aliquo". The competition was adjudicated by Stephen Fry, who described the composition as "a terrifically driven piece of music. I thought it moved really pleasingly; great orchestration. There was a second movement with wonderful strings and drama, and it grew in excitement. There was a real sense of journey in it, which I loved." I aim to use my writing and musicianship skills gained at conservatoire level for a career in the music media industry.
My work as a composer has appeared in films showcased at prestigious festivals and events, with screenings at renowned venues such as Garden Cinema in Covent Garden and Narberth Museum in Pembrokeshire. I have worked as assistant composer to Patrick Dodds, on the TV series 'Prana Power', created by Buddha Cartel, produced by Studio Eight Productions. I am currently working on several projects, including a song cycle, a music-dance collaboration, an art poetry film and other short films.
I am an accomplished trumpeter and ensemble performer. I performed trumpet as part of Stephen Montague's 80th birthday concert, at St John's Smith Square, London. I am also a skilled pianist - whether composing at the piano or playing pieces by ear - and I also enjoy playing drums in my free time.
